The Fjedur story is an interesting one: from humble beginnings in the Malung children's choir the group grew to become seminal in spreading folk-songs from Malung around Sweden and South-African songs around the world.
But it is also a very dear and personal story, full of anecdotes, and I'd love to tell them one day. In the meantime there are other narratives I can share for those understanding Swedish: from Mats Hermansson's academic thesis in missiology: "Mission i retur" and Rune Forsbeck's book "Gör ni då inte åtskillnad" pages 144-150.

GONDWANA
Gondwana deserves also a mention although the group was regrettably short-lived and pictures and recordings scarce. We toured Central-America and Cuba in the late eighties and extended our World Music scope westward. The song "Together" was a product of this exploration in lyrics & music.
Memorable were also concerts together with Nelson Mandela and Desmond Tutu.
The tenor-section of Gondwana was of the kind that you are not likely to find in your average choir: Åke Edvinsson - Sweden, André Delang - South Africa, Kaarle Mannila - Finland and Mikael "Zifa" Eriksson - Zaire. Did it cook....?
We danced a summer or two and then other things took precedence. Two couples in the group (the Delanges and the Mannilas) later multiplied and soon there were 11 kids on both side of the Baltic… Listen to a rare live take from a concert in Luleå, February 1990, a few days after the release of Nelson Mandela, with André doing the lead backed up by Åke and Kaarle:
Freedom is in your hand
ANDERS NYBERG ENSEMBLE
After a bit of getting used to the name has stuck and appeared and reappeared on small but dynamic constellations over the years. Here you can hear a track with one of "the ANsembles" with Anna Sahlene as soloist and André Delang backing up:
