The Seeds of Peace

As a response to an "epidemic" of child abuse that was occurring in South Africa in 2002 Jennifer and I initiated the non-profit making organization Artists Against Abuse later changed to Peace of Music. One of the first projects was "Seeds of Peace", a recording of a maxi-single including the voices of top South African stars as well as street children from Cape Town. The South African singers who heeded the call and generously gave freely of their talents were: (in order of appearance) Gloria Bosman, Vusi Mahlasela, Nonhlanhla Mdluli, Melody, Linda Kekana, Danny K, Margaret Motsage, Kreesan, Sibongile Mngoma, Cecil Mitchell, Nianell, Thabo Mdluli, Gloria Bosman and Johnny Clegg. Once again, a heartfelt thank you for your generous contribution!

The money raised by the project was donated to COPESSA, an organization based in Soweto working with prevention of child abuse and its founding director Dr Nobs Mwanda Motjuwadi.

Moving from South Africa a few years later, we had to fold our non-profit making organization Peace of Music. (The name resurfaced in Sweden in Peace of Music Publishing AB a bit later.) But by including "Together" in the production of the fundraising CD "Kvintessens", adding South Africans André Delang and Jennifer Ferguson on to the track from a studio in Stockholm, we can carry on supporting COPESSA.
